Our 12th annual Sappony Quilting Bee was held on January 26, 2019. Thanks to Shelia Epps Wilson for coordinating another fun event!
Work continued on Mrs. Carrie Martin’s heirloom quilt topper. For the 4th year, Teryn (Stewart) Brewington and Ronald Epps gave beading demonstrations, and several of our Sappony crafters had items for sale, including baskets, jewelry, ribbon skirts and decorative items.
New this year was singing by the Stewart Family Singers and Chickasaw visitors from Greenville, NC who joined in the fellowship and quilting. They heard about our quilting bee at the November American Indian celebration at the NC Museum of History in Raleigh!
If you missed this wonderful event, mark your calendars for the last Saturday in January next year and join in on the fun! Contact Shelia at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have a topper for next year, or bring a quilt that needs repair with you. You can also bring along your beautiful family quilts to show! We’d love to see them.
